I see ayup are now doing a loyalty discount for existing customers, so thinking of getting a new 40% brighter lighthead.
Part of the reason i want to upgrade to a better helmet light is that i sometimes have to lend my bar set to the GF which leaves me with my old helmet ayups that arent too good by themselves.
Would the new brighter ones be ok for riding with as an only light, or should i just look at some of the lights from mtb batteries like the V2 or lumen800? I do like the compact size and minimal weight of the ayups though.
Thanks
I road ride with a single set of the brighter ones. Not had cause to try a single set off road yet.
Remember that 40% more light means 40% less burn time.
Love my ayups but given the price by the time you land them in the UK, I might be tempted by the cheap Chinese stuff if I was buying again now.
I bought my 40% brighter Ay Ups in the fall of 2011. I like them a lot.
But I don't think that they've updated them much if at all since then. LED lights are sort of like smartphones, they're changing at a very fast pace. Most brands are gaining significant lumens year to year. But not the Ay Ups as far as I am aware.
I don't know that they're worth the big $$$ now compared to the cheap lights.
