I'm fed up propping the bike up against walls and fences, or flipping it upside down to do any work on it so I'd really like a workstand.

However the prices are a joke to be honest, especially as I have all the materials available already to build them. Lots of lengths of steel box tubes plus hinges etc lying around. The only thing I don't have is a clamp but I'm sure I can source something.

So has anyone built their own and has any advice or knows of any guides for building your own?

look at the ones that support the BB and then have an arm that runs up the down tube of the frame to steady evrything.

going to be a lot eaiser than trying to sort soemthign to clamp a seatpost securely.

Is £65 really that expensive? http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/Cycle/7/LifeLine_Spin_Doctor_Deluxe_Workstand/5360009217/
