..a bicycle and sidecar combination?

Now the trandem build is successfully underway, I've been set a new challenge for later in the year.

I need some ideas about how it could be done though.

I saw a lad on one locally last year. It looked like he had a complete bike frame minus the forks somehow mounted a couple of feet out from his own bike.

mmmm, sounds like its been done.

How about a lightweight offroad version of the side by side bikes you can hire at the likes of Butlins? Side by side tandem if you like.

If you do an offroad sidecar bike, try to get hold of a USE sub fork, be ideal for that sort of application.

I'm aiming for a sidecar with separate cranks and drive to the sidecar wheel, from a recliniing seat. Like sort of a recumbant welded onto a bike.

Side by side tandem if you like

I think the term is (or used to be) "sociable tandem". 🙂
