has any one modified there hollowtech bottom bracket to proper seal bearings by just knocking out old ones and replacing them.to stop water and mud getting in if so do you know if 6805 bearing is the right one needed to carry this out ?

Yep, kinda works, but you get left with a few mm extra width in the BB.
I used the 'enduro' bearings as supplied by betd;

It omit's the plastic 'top hat' spacer tho, so if your not happy with that (they'll be fine as long as the bearing never seizes) just get some standard sized bearings as said above.
My standard htII bb (slx) lasted about 10 months, I'll see how long these last...
