Just asked my mate who has the 'cheap' ones - he highly recommends.

I was undecided yesterday of i should try some or not. then i saw the pacestar ones on bikediscount for not much more. I didn't end up buying either as my original plan of getting some cheap tires (Michelin country mud £8) had gone out of the window and i was up to spending nearly £50.

well just back from a very muddy swinley for round 3 of the enduro1 series

and im quite impressed

had one on the front and it was very reassuring, never felt a transition when i leaned it over and only had a couple of moments where they lost it, once on some deep squirmy mud and once on a freshly stripped root

considering how wet and rooty the course was they did well, I imagine the trailstar versions must be very good

I got them (in el cheapo compound) front & back on a hardtail 26er and well pleased with them, all whilst rolling pretty well for such a chunky trye. So much so the Maxxis 2.4 Ardents on the 29er are going to get replaced with Hans Dampf TrailStar front and PaceStar back.

With the 26er Super Gravity VertStar ones... you could ride like Danny "Pinball Wizard" Hart!
