i have a HT specailized Carve Pro 2013.
im slowly upgrading and changing the parts to benefit my riding style.
ive just hopefully solved my soar backside/scranus buy changing seat to an selle italia slr flow and using lycra padded shorts. Now im wondering if changing the the rise of the bars would make me more comfortable on my commute to work?
ive got a second wheel set up for weekend use at my local trail centre in cannock so choosing the right bars is important.
standard bars are 10mm rise and was thinking surely if bars are slightly higher i will enjoy the ride to work more. plus they will be 40mm wider and i do find myself when tired on way home with my hands rest on the ends of bars wishing for more lenght! (dont we all) ๐
what i dont want to do is ruin the ride when it comes to the weekend but i cant see 10mm would do that?
the bars im looking at are these with various rises:

Can you raise your current bars by moving spacers around?
Or get a cheapo stem with some rise to see how it feels
If you're near Leeds you can borrow one or borrow my old bars to check it out
