My right hand starts to ache in the bottom left quarter of my palm after an hour of so's riding, and gets to a point where it is painfull to hold the bars. Would some better gloves with some sort of palm padding help?
Any ideas?
I have had this in the past a few suggestions, don't have a death grip loosen your hands around the bars. Also if the grips you are using are particularly thin, try thicker ones, and vice versa. My hands have gotten used to it but it is a horrible pain.
riding position, death grip, lever position, all possible causes
Ergon grips help some
Pads on the palm of your gloves cause this for me
only thing that works for me are esi grips
Thinnest possible grips and thinnest gloves work for me. Really struggle in winter with thicker gloves.
I'd suggest different grips/gloves/both or try altering the angle of the bars if you've got risers as that should get you to change your hand position.
I'll have a play around with the lever position if that dont work then some thinner gloves, at the moment my gloves have slight padding in that area, although I dont get the problem in my left hand.
Cheers for the replies
