being a teessider, i'm used to biking on the moores, heading to Dalby, taking a longish trip to keilder, tress of innerle, and if i need to be home quick and am just looking for something basic Maybe... go to hamsterly.

Well. Not any more, My my they have been busy, did the black route the other day and had such a good time ๐Ÿ˜‰ credit to them they've added some fantastic area's. would recommend to anyone who hasn't been for a while.

Going to be much higher on my list of trails now! Will have to do my part and head along on one of there dig days and give a hand working as a grunt.

anyone know if they have much planned for the red route?

Did you do any of the new bits of red? IE the bit down from the 4x course? If not, get back there quick, it's really good!

I was up yesterday doing the Durham Big Dirty Ride along with another 60 or so others, and there's a brand new bit of red down from the radio transmitter on the other side of the valley. Couple of great bomb holes, nice berms, all great fun - just opened on Friday apparently. When you drop back down to the fire road there's another new bit running parallel downhill that me and another lad tried, not realising it wasn't finished... Gravel turned rapidly into sand..... I don't know if the planned spending will still be going ahead, but it all looks very interesting.

If you want to discover some more of the hidden gems, the Trailblazers do a guided ride on the second Sunday of the month and night rides on Wednesdays: http://hamsterley-trailblazers.co.uk/events.htm

The guided rides are usually of a wide spread of ability, and very stop-start, but you get to see some of the less frequently ridden stuff. If Matt or Gary are leading it, you'll probably get to ride all sorts of sketchy-vague-new stuff.
