ok guys, here's one for you.
i am watching a shock on ebay,

he claims this shock is 190mm, but yet, he claims it was touching the seat tube of the halfords gt i drive 5 xcr??? hence he is now selling the shock on ebay.

i find this very weird. the gt i drive 5 standard shock is 7.25 (190mm), so how can this shock be touching the down tube?? my only conclusion is that the shock is actually a 200mm eye to eye. hence making it touch the down tube. he claims that gt mechanic has infomed that the halfords gt i drive 5 takes a 165mm??? i find this very hard to believe. so he has now replaced the shock with a 165mm on a gt i drive 5 xcr. of course, now, it won't have 5 inch of travel??
all i know is
gt idrive 4 = 100mm travel frame with a shock of 152x31
gt idrive 5 = 140mm travel frame with a shock of 190x50
i own both bikes, so i know this be true
is their any difference with the shock on the halfords gt i drive xcr frame on shocks against the normal gt i drive 5?? surely not?
can anyone shed some light??
i'am puzzled. but for sure this shock must be 200mm eye to eye to be touch the down tube??
