Gx mech clutch , chain bounces off jockeys

After rough descents the mech bounces all over the place and sometimes the chain doesn’t engage with the jockey wheels , when I pedal on the lower cogs after descending I find the chain snaps into place , most disturbing the noise it makes.

X01 rear mech may be my next purchase is the clutch within any better

Chain the right length?

Am I correct that the jockey wheels are narrow-wide? Is the chain-jockey engagement part of the problem? I misaligned the chain with a N-W chainring recently after a post-ride clean-up and the noise was horrendous.

I had this with a GX (none axs) mech after about 1000 miles, tried different jockeys, chain lengths, b tension.. everything, even pinched the cage so there was less gap for the chain... no good. assume there isnt enough clutch tension any more

replaced it with a £30 Deore mech and was sorted instantly

This was also the deciding factor to never buy anything driveline related from SRAM again (except cranks)

Yeah this was my first thought reading the OP

Are the jockey wheels worn - i.e. do they have side to side play?

I'm another person who dropped SRAM (except cassettes and chains) forever after going through too many expensive jockey wheels on a GX derailleur.

I gave up on SRAM when a rear mech shat itself without even hitting anything, fortunately the couple of miles home was mostly downhill

Those N-W jockey wheels have no benefits. Chucking them for some normal ones might well fix the problems. Think I used Uberbike ones on mine

SRAM went downhill after 10 speed. Literally.

Yeah, the needle on my cycling bullshit detector went into the red zone the first time I heard SRAM were punting out NW jockey wheels. **** off.
