GRX 822 rear mech noise?

Hi all, I have a Sonder Camino Al GRX1 and I have a strange noise which I think I’ve narrowed down to the rear mech/ jockey wheels. It is a tinkling noise, very subtle clicking, not all the time, some rides it’s fine and some rides it drives me crazy. It’s not the wheels as I have changed those and the sound remains. I have set the tension correctly so its not noise from chain rub trying to move to the next cog etc. Over my many many years of riding I thought I’d dealt with most annoying noises but this has me baffled. It appears to be worse with the clutch on I think. Is 12 speed just so tight on tolerance that drivetrains need to be really clean perhaps? I ride everyday so that’s never gonna happen though 😊 Cheers for any suggestions and Merry Christmas and happy New year all!

I put a Shimano chain on backwards about a month ago and chased my tail trying to work out the clicking noise. And I remember making a conscious effort to get it right first time when I installed it! All good now ...

Do you mean you have swapped the jockey wheels or actual wheels?

Hoping I’ve cracked it… not literally😉 The noise was driving me crazy on my ride today so I stopped and had a look to see if I could see anything obvious/ not spotted before. When I pushed the mech, near the clutch inwards towards the wheel it made a clicking noise, i figured that when pedalling the mech probably moved slightly leading to the noise but not as loud, hence the tinkling sound. I came home and blasted all moving parts on the mech with WD40 and it’s now (not getting too excited) silent!! Big old Chefs kiss moment! Good night all. 🤩

Spoke too soon 😩 Noise is back!! Gonna take the mech off, remove jockey wheels and clean/lube everything including hanger, thru axle etc. I so hope it works.

My Camino has made a ticking noise/feel from the moment I got it, did it with the original sram axs setup and still does it with GRX now. Could just be slightly off frame alignment maybe or a less than optimal mech hanger/dropout setup?

Oh that’s not good then, drives me crazy on long road rides! Is yours random, more at times, less at others, no pattern etc? Normally these things are a click per rotation but this is not the case.

It seems to be mostly tied to my cadence but not quite once per revolution. I’ve learned to ignore it!
