Thanks to all that posted suggestions on where to ride yesterday - after 2 years out of the saddle (becoming a parent and all that) I wasn't sure if I would be intimidated by going to a purpose built trail with loads of fit and healthy riders.
My concerns were soon over, what a friendly bunch everyone was, even from the car park people were so chatty and there was no pressure on the trails with people riding up my ass.
It was pretty icy and I did take a mighty crash hitting a rather deep pot hole covered over by ice, so I now have 2 knee caps - and that boardwalk section in my opinion was totaly unridable, i could only just walk it ! Although some crazy guy on a grey marin rode most of it !
And fair play to that guy who was riding a road bike and went flying past me towards the end, wish I'd got a photo!
Overall I was chuffed, I loved it, I cannot wait to get back out again
