Greasing seat clamp bolts

Is there any reason not to do this? The bolts came with a bit of threadlock on but I feel like I'm struggling to get them tightened up properly, and keep the saddle angle I want.

QR or just a seatbolt? If QR, i just clean and grease the cam bit to ease tightening.

If a seatbolt and its still slipping after tightening, I'd have thought it's a bigger issue related to seatpost/seattube width & tolerances

Sorry, badly worded! I mean for the clamp on the saddle rails.

What saddle? I have found the easiest saddles to get and keep the exact angle you want are those which have a bolt at the front and a bolt at the back.

Yeah, it's a two bolt number like in the video. Mine is a Deda Zero. It's the front bolt that I feel isn't getting tight in quite the right way.

If the bolt has loctite then don't put grease on it.

It's either one or the other.

yep you don’t want to lube it with loctite and you want the loctite.

I always found them a bit fiddly.

I vaguely remember getting the thing level and torqued close but not full then  one counterclockwise rotation on one end and one clockwise rotation on the other and repeat till your happy with the angle of dangle then go to the torque setting a turn or 1/2 alternating on each until your at the correct torque.

If you don’t start with it reasonably torqued it’s all over the place 🙂

I do have a torque wrench but the front bolt is so close to the seat post itself the only thing I can get in that one is a regular Allen key.
