I’ve seen some 5 year old posts that there are no cycling signs on Grassington Moor between the two bridleways. I can’t see anything online that this has changed - does anyone know anything more recent? A friend has proposed a route round there, and given its shooting season I’m thinking it’s not worth the hassle.

I assume you mean the track from Yarnbury to Mossdale. I rode this midweek a few weeks ago from Grassington and didn't notice any no cycling signs at this end. However in Mossdale there is a no cycling sign at the start of the track with a note from the guide book writer stating this fact. IIRC the signs went up when the Austrian(?) owner of the grouse moor wanted to sell & didn't want cyclists. btw I believe the shooting season ends mid December.
There is a big locked gate to haul your bikes over. The route is just a gravelly track but does give a good link up. Only estate vehicle I saw was north of Mossdale Caverns. They might be more in evidence over the holiday period though so it's down to how you feel about it really.

Thanks. Yes that was the section I was thinking of. We’ve decided on another route.

I really don't think you'd have any issues with it. It's BW from Conistone all the way up to the top track and I very rarely encounter anyone up there, and have never been turned back.

There are some interesting little side singletrack sections around there too, depending on your direction.

I've not noticed it, but I think the Cicerone book has an addendum because of this.
