Anyone own one or ridden one properly?
I'm after a 2nd bike for the future to go with my Scott Spark 26". It'll be for XC across the Surrey hills and racing.
First, will it shake me to death as I'm not under 30?
Will it be easy to shed a few pounds on them if needed?
What are they like in general?
Cheers!
I have had the lighter SLX model for nearly a year now and find it a blast as well as very forgiving at the rear. Easy to shed a bit of weight if you go 1 x 10 / 1 x 11 and change a few other bits.
Im past 30, closer to 40 damn thats creeping up!
Ordered a Grand Canyon Al 29er 6.9, pretty much same reason as you although no races!! keep my speshi camber 26er for big days out and the canyon for mincing round on round cannock and towpaths, can't wait to get mine, tbh i was looking at the cf one but went alu as i know it will be ok.
Plus fairly unique not seen any in the wild, and not sure many have the hardtails over here, more of a nerve/spectal imports from what ive seen on forums.
Any feedback on the Grand Canyon Al 29er 6.9?
Thanks
I've gone from a Trek Top Fuel to a Superfly hardtail - ie 26" wheeled short travel FS to 29er hardtail. I found the transition easier than expected, I'm faster around the Surrey Hills on the Superfly generally. I'd be concerned they're too similar, but you won't want to ride the Spark anymore!
Yeh I had a Grand canyon 29er. Cracking bike for the money, binned the brakes and dropped some XT's on it. Really good value for money ๐

How do you find the frame over rough stuff? Is it forgiving or harsh?
Anyone else got any feedback on the Canyon 29er carbon fibre 6.9?
