I've been using gpsies.com for a few years to record bike & walking tracks.
Looks like they're being taken over by alltracks.com, and you can use your login there.
I've tried alltracks but am not impressed - adverts, not a great interface, some of my routes don't appear to have copied over...
Can you recommend any good sites for keeping GPSs & creating routes? Mapmyride perhaps?
Have been spoilt with gpsies - free, ad-free and really useful.
Have a look at Komoot. I usually use Garmin Basecamp when I'm at home but I've managed to do a few wee routes on Komoot using just my phone.

it has been bought by alltracks. But as far as I can see all the original functionality is still there if you continue to use gpsies.com. In fact it seems nothing has changed
gpsies fan here too. 191 routes so far! Appears to still be working so far...
plotaroute looks good - but you have to pay if you want more than 5 private routes.
gp.mapometer free-ish, but you pay for better maps, was free.
Another Gpsies user here, still working for me, I plotted three routes yesterday
Thanks, you're right, it's all still there. Sorry if I came over all dramatic!
According to alltracks help:
Can I still access GPSies and all of my account information?
Yes! You can still use GPSies.com and access your GPSies account information by logging in here. The GPSies Android and iOS apps will also continue to be available for the time being.
I'm going to download everything just for peace of mind, carry on using it while trying some of your suggestions until I find something I like.
