I am thinking about doing this event. Has anyone here done it and can comment on the ground conditions in that area when it’s wet?  I’ve never ridden around there.

Thanks!

Chalky, rutty, muddy. But it's ok in reality. Course is decent and often a good day out.

I'm debating between that and the fod Enduro a few weeks later.

Mostly bridleways, quiet roads etc. The 'woods' section is the bit that will get properly muddy. I have done it twice. Once on a full suss xc bike with summer tyres and once on a rigid singlespeed with mud x tyres. Probably somewhere between those 2 is the optimum bike/tyre choice.

Good day out. Watch out for all the Red Kites. Not because they will go for you but one nearly hit me with a dropped half rabbit. Messy.

Thanks for the comments. Sounds like some Barzo on a hardtail might fit the bill.  Is it The kind of terrain needs a dropper or could you get away with a normal seat post?

Barzo will be fine, unless it's really wet. Yeah, not really dropper stuff. More like nice miles, nice countryside.
