Hi all,

We're planning our trip from Chamonix to Zirmatt - currently looking for trails in the Val d'anniviers area (esp grimentz and zinal).

Has anyone got any good GPXs of trails in the area (or any sites with such things)? Lift assisted and technical preferred 🙂

Thanks!

It’s fantastic there... there’s a bike park in saint luc, it’s pretty small but the best thing about that is that you can use it to access other better high level trails. You can also use the excellent post bus service from any town to do uplifts.

This company are great and will show you the best trails, but to be honest having a look on a map and picking one at random would also work.

There’s an enduro race in Zinal every summer that uses some great trails, sorry I don’t think there’s a map online for that. You could have a look at the classic map.geo.admin.ch site for general maps, or this site is pretty good - bikingspots.ch . Their descriptions are pretty reliable. The chandolin ride listed there over the Illpass is simply incredible. Access by bus and then a chairlift in summer. Finishes all the way down in the Sion valley.

Have a read of this (first trail listed, I should get out more as I remember reading it first time)

I have visted the valley summer but only for walking. Grimentz old town is worth a visit from a tourist perspective. The Hotel Bela Tola is lovely if you want some luxury

There is an mtb race from Verbier to Grimentz called the Christalp - might be worth looking up the routes somewhere (120km in a day !!)

There was a thread around this video, the riders posted up gpx for the whole route. Note they seemed to ride up everything although I know for sure you don’t have to at Verbier (lift or bus)

Thanks all - any swiss equivlent of trail forks? We're doing a self organised point to point rather than going with a company (such as Besso).

I found the GPX for that enduro that was mentioned.

I am not aware of one. What I have found is that the highlighted walking trails on Swiss mobility site/app often match the good enduro trails around Verbier. The VTT trails shown are a bit pedally and fireroad ime

Trailforks has Swiss coverage but looking at places I know seems to just be obvious marked official routes
