Brilliant good news story. When is the hanging taking place?

He'll probably get a slap on the wrist and given a mars bar to make up for the inconvenience of being arrested but at least the bike was recovered, good work that man!

Excellent!

Can I just say that's the only nice looking Klein I've ever seen

The OP's Klein looks like a post Trek Klein. Kleins were more Awesome before then

A gator linear fade, now that was a great paintjob. Why don't modern bike manufacturers do cool paint jobs I wonder?

Nice result.

A guy round here has a purple Klein, makes me a little bit jealous everytime I see see it go by. Just something about them.

Well done everyone - I wonder if there were any more bikes found or whether the seller claimed he bought it off a "bloke down the pub"?

We've done a few successful ebay/gumtree stings where the original owner has arranged to view/buy and our officers have knocked on the door instead.

Two points;

the thief is likely to have sold it for peanuts to pay for drugs to someone he knows who can move it on. We recently had a guy in who admitted stealing an £800 bike (and he knows bikes enough to know it was worth £800), he swapped it for three £10 bags of heroin.

Its difficult to prove handling as the 'new owner' invariably claims to have bought it at a car boot sale (rather than the bloke down the pub), which removes the 'fair value' element of why they might know or believe it was stolen.

Awesome news. As someone with a Klein lying in the shed awaiting a restoration project, I'm glad that tale has had a happy ending.
