i am looking at going to the Alps with Biker Verbier on the 29th May........will this be too early and will snow still be around meaning i wont get to to ride all the trails?
we've had hardly anything here for the winter yet.
we are expecting a late snowfall meaning late march / april like last year.
This is in Tirol tho so not sure about the rest.
I went to Verbier with bike verbier on 6th June last year. There was a bit of snow at the highest levels - on a couple of climbs on north facing slopes we had to carry the bikes over it. Somehow they managed to find clear routes going down. All of the bike park was clear. The valley was at 30 degrees. The lake was most welcome at the end of each day.
If anything the range of routes we rode was better than when I went in August as we went further afield from the ski lifts.
Not been a big year for snow in the Alps so trails should clear pretty fast, things can change quickly though.
