Only because people rode there. It'll then take twice as long to be clear of compacted snow and ice.

Inners was nice, but slippery going and lots of sheet ice under the snow. Less snow lower down and a bit more clear in the trees. It was apparently v slippery at gt yesterday and I suspect the snow since then is a bit more packed down at gt than inners, looks like a nice day tomorrow though.

Caberston was fine today. Snow was soft and grippy on the fireroads. The trails in the trees were fine.

Special mention to the 6 guys on motorbikes that were ripping up and down Old School DH. They've torn the trail to shreds and at the drop near the bottom they've managed to dislodge the fallen tree that formed the drop meaning it's now wrecked.

Thanks guys...

It was below freezing at 6pm today (a bit further up the 'valley') and forecast to get colder overnight - so probably.

Earlier in the week...

Rode there today and it was Baltic. If you know the cheat route up to spooky woods, you're still wasting your time as berm baby berm is closed due to felled trees. Personally having spent two hours there today I wouldn't bother.

motorbikes are up there most weekends now I think? They park at the golf course too, hopefully the club staff can distinguish them from mtbers.

Trying to avoid ice not sure where to go tomorrow morn from my end of the tweed it's either mud dry frozen ground or sheet ice from the frozen runoff. Snow would actually be a bonus though.

Bob - That DH was actually found because motorbikes had been ripping UP it for years. I helped build the original DH track (circa '95). as a DH track it died years ago.

No **** s given here.

If Peebles then a quick lap of Gypsy Glen.

If Gala/Selkirk then 3B and Yair.

Keep high and it'll be well frozen.
