Just got back from a weekend at Glentress, stayed in the Glentress hotel again. What a superb deal. We've stayed here many times and never been disappointed but this time we got bed and breakfast and a superb 3 course evening meal for £45. Ollie the owner couldn't do enough for us we even got BBQ chicken on the bar before the meal. He said it's been pretty quiet over the last few weeks in particular so do your best to help him out if you can. Honestly - we would not stay anywhere else when we're up there - absolutely faultless.

Guess it will all change when the same people have the cafe at the Peel with no competition from the Hub and the Glentress Hotel.

Was at Glentress today for a final ride (for noo) before moving down south - last traverse of broon on the whippet seat up was not one for the text books. Will really miss it - the density of trails is hard to beat in the UK. Feels like you've packed in a ton of riding yet you get back to the car and it's been only 2 1/2 hours.

I see all the 'escape to the hub' signs have been replaced with 'escape to GT peel' - plus ca change.
