Off to bonnie scotland tomorrow ostensibly for a group walk up Nevis but taking the MTB.

Anyone got any tips to ride in Glencoe, where I'll be staying? Not particularly bothered about the uplift trails - happier to find some natural stuff.

Any suggestions? Perchance a printable map? 🙂

I don't know the glencoe area, because any time I'm there I drive to Kinlochleven and ride there, the riding round there is just outrageous. (the Ciaran Path consistently gets glowing recommendations and trail awards and the like, and it's the worst trail I've ridden there)

I can only imagine anyone who drives all the way up from darn sarf to ride the fabled Ciaran path must be rather disappointed, as Northy suggests, there's much better in the area.

As above, try trailforks, also you should be able to find the dudes enduro route, or look here

If you're just riding for one day I'd do what we did last week.

Park at Kinlocvhlevem, head up the West Highland Way in a southerly direction until you get to the sign for the Devil's Staircase to Glencoe.

Follow this up and over to the road through Glencoe - then return the same way.

Turn right when you get back to that original sign for the DS - proceed to the Blackwater Dam (you won't miss it).

Cross over and the Ciaran Path awaits you back down the other side of the valley. If you've got the fitness not to be annoyed by the sharp rises in the trail, it's an amazing rollercoaster of singletrack and tech features. Attacking the lower section in the woods is so much fun.

The Glencoe DH track is an unforgiving bitch of a course designed to break bones and bikes.....never ridden it but kudos to those who have, in my world the UK round of the UCI world cup would move from Fort Bill to Glencoe, that'd sort the men from the boys.
