Repairs being finished this Sunday I think, but shut at least until then - Check the Facebook group for Gisburn trail building for details.

hi yes its still shut , there is another dig day this Sunday when with a bit of luck and a tail wind we might get the resurfacing completed , the trail will then remain closed for a couple of weeks or so to allow the surface to settle and harden ,then it should ride like new again

Yes but they're not hugely exciting 😆

[img] [/img] New boardwalk starting, shouldn't take long to complete actually, the bulk of the frame is done.

And a load more stone laid, just need the power carriers to get the limestone in.

You can just see the boardwalk at the bottom. Martin and Nigel have done a chunk more boardwalk at the other end as well. I reckon maybe three to four more dig days and we could get this section finished.

Hopefully you'll understand if we don't say yet, especially on a public forum, it's unfinished. People who find it are riding it, which we don't really want. the point of putting these pics up is to try and get people interested to come and help build and dig.

You could come to a dig day, then you'd find out.

Terry/Jon
Are you organising a dig 2 weeks on Sunday (end of March)? If you are, I'll post it on the SingletrAction dig events board thingy.

Probably but I'll be there late, I'll talk to Terry on Sunday and we'll confirm if it's on and let you know.

fair enough, just wondering how it would link into the route.

It'll link in on the return section somewhere on the '8' route, suffice to say in probably late April you'll see the new section heading back towards some of the existing singletrack. We'll do the start of it last.

Meantime all but 30 yards of the Gully has now been resurfaced. It is still closed however as the bit that still hasn't been finished is really gloopy and oone of the steep drops is being pitched and is only half finished. Try and ride that and you're likely to get pitched over the bars (I'll get me coat).

Hopefully it'll get finished in the next couple of weeks. Ideally we could do with a good dose of rain to help bed it in.
