these ones ? After the various problems with the similar but more expensive Montaro one, wondering whether this is any good ?
The pads on my Montaro fell apart on first ride, as did many other people's, these seem a different material...
I like the fit of Giro lids and could do with replacing my Xar...
oh well.... ๐
I would've thought the pads would be the same as the montaro. I'm on my 4th set of warranty pads for my montaro. It is getting very annoying but the helmet is comfy.
Thought you had bought a Kask?
I was trying one on yesterday as it happens.
Was comfortable on the head but I found the jagged plastic bands that are part of the occipital cradle shizzle at the back dug into my neck. I adjusted them to the highest but they still dug in with their stylised pointy edges.
Back looks a bit mullet-like.
The click wheel is miniature too.
I also tried the Specialized Ambush. Very comfy, great cradle adjustment, very light. Hopefully it'll work well as I bought it.

Thought you had bought a Kask?
I did...for iainc junior ๐
kayak23 - does the Ambush have central vents ? thinking of mounting for Exposure Joystick.
Cheers

on the description they are different - listed as Coolmax for the Chronicle.
It's a pits as the Montaro fitted a treat. Maybe Giro will change the pads at some stage....
Mine came from Wiggle so i had to return helmet for refund as they couldn't replace just the pads
I've had no issue with either of the Features I've had, are they still available?
^^^^^ nope:
It looks like the Feature has now disappeared from Giroโs website and the Chronicle has stepped into its place

I have just ordered one, so will report back ๐
Thanks Kayak. Have ordered a chronicle, hope it's as good a fit and feel as the Montaro without the single use pads !
Took delivery of a bluegrass goldeneyes, the 2017 version, a few weeks back. A step up from my last few lids tbh, very comfy, stays in place and decent venting. Happy Bowser.
What didn't you like about the Kask Iain? Only worn mine once but like it so far
davosaurusrex - I really like it, only niggle was being a specs wearer I found the straps rubbing on the arms of my glasses and moving them a bit. Junior had his eagle eyes on it as he was needing a new lid, so he is now the proud user ๐
Lucky kid!
Yeah ! He does ride a lot with local development club, so he will get a lot of use out of it (he's nearly 14) and his current lid has been passed down to his wee brother, so not as extravagant as it sounds !
kayak23 - i found same issue as you with the internal cage on the chronicle, and it was fouling the legs of my specs. It's away back and I've ordered an Ambush ๐ stuck with medium as am that size in Giro and my youngest son has a Spesh Tactic in Med which fits me
