I've got a new to me Giant Trance Advanced.
The bottle cage mounts seem a long way up the downtube. As a result I can only squeeze in a 500ml bottle and getting it in/out of the cage is difficult.

Is there any way I can mount a cage lower down the down tube (there's plenty of room) or failing that recommend me a good secure side entry bottle cage?

One of these:

And/or a Specialized Zee Cage.

Can vouch for the Zee Cage - been perfect on my bikes.

I have this problem. I have had to put heli tape inder the top tube to protect it from bottle rub!

Tried to find a bottle cage with several holes or slots so you could slide the cage lower. Couldn't find one. Was going to drill new holes in one but just ended up putting bottle in backpack.

For me, it's the only flaw in this frame.

Or if you want to be able to carry lots of water you need the Zipomatic 2000.

Well I'm going to give one of those Specialized ones a go. Cheers.

A Mount Skidmore adapter or A Shimano DI2 battery holder will move the cage for you.

Had the specialized zee cage on my trance, it never let me down. Plus you can fit the swat tool as well.
