Its a pretty damn ugly bike, but i seem drawn towards it [img] [/img]

Looking at a bike that will take full guards and be suitable for the winter club run (it is a racing orientated club so fairly pacey as winter riding goes) but also with change of tyres / wheels double up for some CX riding (not racing more like fire roads, hardpack trails and things like that) and some light touring too. Initially i was looking at the Giant TCX but it doesnt have rack mounts whereas this does. However i'm pretty clueless when it comes to judging a bike in terms of how it looks geometry wise but does this look OK for such purposes or is it going to be more orientated towards dirt and gravel riding rather than road?

Have also considered a Kaffenback which is better specced but put off a bit by the weight (plus i would prefer to deal with a LBS if i can) and also bikes like the Genesis Croix de Fer but prefer the price point of the Giant.

I'm not sure of the exact relationship, but seems to be the case.

Some more info, mostly pertaining to the 2013 model though, on this thread.

Had a look in Evans today and they dont have the 2014 in stock yet and the 2013 they had wasnt my size

Have noticed Halfords have the CX Team back on their website, presumably the problems have been sorted so will check that out (10% off this weekend apparently)
