Calling all Anthem 29er owners. Looking at picking up a 2016 model to add alongside my Kinesis FF29. A couple of questions on sizing etc:

- What size stems do the Small and Medium come with?
- What crank arm length? (I assume 170mm on Small, and 175mm on Medium?)
- What is the spec on the rear hub. Is it 142mm x 12? (Will need to covert my existing Pro2Evo hub, so need to check how easy it is
- Are the discs 6 bolt?
- Are the bar widths all 720mm?
- How do they ride with 1x10 gearing? Too much pedal bob, or does it work okay?

I'll probably manage to sling a leg over a medium, but might struggle to find a small as the only place I know has Small stock is too far away. Any thoughts on sizing? I know they are quite big bikes and I am only 5ft7 (longish legs for my height), but I did used to ride a Medium Anthem 26er, and my medium Kinesis is a really comfy size, with an 80mm stem.

Any pictures of small bikes? From the photos I've seen online, the small looks a bit wrong.

Cheers

I can only answer your question about 1 x 10 gearing as I used to ride a large. It was fine - bit of bob but the shock had three positions and if on a longer smoother drag or tarmac I tended to lock, or semi lock, it out. Left it fully open on anything technical. Great bikes by the way - beginning to regret selling mine!

I am 5'7 and have a small which was a little to small and now ride a medium 29er Trance much better fit . The other little issue is when running cleats right back on shoes your foot hits front wheel on full compression when turning. Mine is a 2012-13 so not sure if they have changed since.

I have a 2015 anthem 29er, in medium. I am bob on 5'10 and it fits great. I changed the stem(too long +heavy) and bar (too short and heavy) but i have the stupid overdrive 2 so had to get a giant one.

Rear hub on mine is qr! But front was 15mm.

Cant help with crank lengths, i put full xt on it the day it arrived...

Great bike. Very fast and surprisingly capable, did the west highland way on it and rode all of the devils staircase.
