I've found a good video on youtube explaining ghetto tubeless, he says it can be done with a track pump. has anyone done it? Doesn't seem right to me... I'd be trying it on a mavic d521 and on one chunky monkey
with a track pump? - it can work, but only if you're lucky...
you need a 2p inflator*, then it's easy!
(it's how my smorgasboards went up)
(*trademark STW)
Second the 2p inflator. Its magic!
I found that my chunk monkey went up easily
sorry!
it's 9p
inflate to 40psi, open 'er up, pump back up to 40 psi, carefully disconnect, re-fit core, go nuts with track pump.
yes, its great. I inflate mine to 60 psi
Went to get on my bike this morning. Flat tyre , this is sealant in a tube. Third flat in 2 weeks.
Thought I would ride my posh bike, tubeless rims, tyres and sealant. Double flat as well.
Maybe i'm unlucky but its not going to mean no more punctures.
1 puncture in 18 months for me and that was from a 4inch nail entering the tyre through tread and exiting next to the bead. No chance for the sealant to work and a tubed tyre would have been no different, fixed quickly with a sticky worm though. Other than that it's been faultless.
The blue bonty sealant has been excellent up til now. The white stuff is useless.
Sorry to hijack the thread just a bit peed off with it all.
Did the ghetto thing once & it was fine with a trackpump.
Just have to apply a bit of pressure to the tyre over the valve area.
Can't be rsed these days. Went back to No-Faff tubes.

You must be joking . The Bonty sealant is rubbish , the "white stuff" , if you mean Stans is excellent .
There is a reason Trek formulated a new latex based sealant to work with their road tubeless tyres , and they even admitted that they couldn't make anything that worked better than Stans . I believe that the superjuice is no longer being produced , perhaps you should try and buy a job lot while there's still a bit of it about .
Made one and it would work if i hadn't gone and got a schrader by mistake..... can't get the plastic hose i have to get round the valve, so i'll have to get a presta one tomorrow, or do it at the petrol station!
