As above following on from a thread tonight

I am tempted to have a go at tubeless but I am as tight as a gnats chuff
So anyone tried the Ghetto option and what are your opinions. I will be using Blue grooves / nevagals btw

Ta in advance

Yep worked fine for me on XM321 rims, using the 99 pence 20" tubes from Ebay & 2.5 High roller front/Michelin AT16 rear (tubeless tyres) not had a puncture in over a year.
Whole forum sub section here about it http://www.mtbbritain.co.uk/forum/index.php?showforum=21

only one puncture in a year here with ghetto. and that was because i let the sealant run low, so defo user error not ghetto failure!

you can reuse the trimmed innertubes too when you switch tyres.

plus it gets easier o don;t let the faff put you off

tried it a while back, with mixed success (got fed up of losing pressure from 'burps).

i've been trying to get it going again recently, but now can't manage to get the tyre to inflate.

many, many, many, attempts have led me to give up.

Well I have just done my first set of Getto tuless tyres using Nevegals dtc on mavic 317 disc rims using £3.99 20" tubes

Worked a beaut but my tyres had loads of holes in them ( enter Stans no tubes latex) using a track pump I pumped up the tyres as quickly as possable and rotated the wheels to spred the latex inside them within seconds all the leaks stopped from pssst to nothing it was amazing

They are now pumped up and ready to go hoprefully tomorrow and I do have high hopes for them

But all this weight saving bollocks using the wifes scales I saved about 30grams a wheel because ok you take out 3/4 of the tube but then replace it with latex fluid

But hopefully no more punctures for me, who knows????

Very successful on my FS. Total failure on my HT! Same tyres and same brand, but different model, of rim.

Go figure
