Hello STW I'm just about to get back into mountain biking and was wondering
what is a decent tire for , going by the weather muddy conditions , not been on
a bike for about 3 years so I'm out of touch with the new tires on the market .
Cheers in advance upthecreek

Assuming you're riding in Britain then tyres might be a better bet than tires. 🙂

Mud X remains a reasonable option for proper mud, but not so good (ie. lethal) on wet stone.

Think Trailrakers are no longer available.

Haha sorry for the spelling , never was my strong point , will be riding local trails so will be a mixture of mud
, roots and fire roads so the mud x might not do, what about nobby nics , the bike I'm getting has them on it but
the back one could do with being replaced ?

If it is mud you're most likely to be riding in then I wouldn't recommend the NNs. I'd go with the Mud-X instead.

I prefer spesh purgatorys to mud-X, bigger volume, tubeless compatible, and work well all round rather than being a one trick pony, they work on muddy trails but aren't lethal in the dry/rocks/roots.
