After more years than I'd care to mention,'I'm getting back 'on it'. I'm replacing my two bikes destroyed in a garage fire. I'm test riding an orange clockwork on Saturday but the kona explosif has thrown a spanner in the works!

I'm in a state of fitness that must be addressed so I want a bike that can do it all apart from gnarly downhills at warp factor 10! General riding including trails centres will be on the cards. It's gotta be fun to rekindle that love lost. Budget of about 1800.

Ps hi all!

I have no experience of either but I'd get the Kona.

I've ridden my old explosif (V Brakes and rigid forks) at CyB. Penmachno and in Epping forest with no ill effects so the modern version should be much easier to get around on.

I'm not biased but I own 2 and I'd have the new explosif as well if I could.

I'm bias toward the Orange, replacing a 95 p7 which was my favorite ride. Had a specialized enduro expert butnever really enjoyed the pogo effect off a full sus so going ht. Cant wait to rip llandegla to shreds. Maybe it'll be the other way round!!

I see you bought the Orange Clockwork in the end - what size frame did you go for?
