Having been sat here looking at my Avenue Vert book for some time, I'm thinking that if I get the evening ferry from Newhaven (just 'down' the road from me) it'll get me into Dieppe at 0400..
Then with a bit of oomph, I reckon I could get to Paris for about 1800...
So what are sensible options for getting back to, erm, the UK..
I reckon options include:
-stay in paris and get the eurostar back the following am (pricey)
-evening eurostar (not convinced I'll be in Paris in time for the last train)
-some sort of normal train from Paris to Northern france, then ferry back.
Anything else I'm missing?

Train back to Dieppe one change at Rouen. Might make the midnight boat? Check the timetable might be possible.
Eurostar stopped allowing bikes when the pandemic hit, unless it's a folding bike. It's shit

Nope, not even boxed bikes
TER services will carry bikes, forward booking is usually no more than 6 months. We advise our clients to pay for the ticket at the station as SNCF service is terrible for those booking online with no refunds or odd supplements when you board being applied. The customer service centre is now in France to add to the fun.
I expect that it will be worse now as a result of Brexit.
