I asked this question a long time ago with no further information coming up !
has anyone rebuilt the rear wheel on a genesis io singlespeed ?
its the standard wheel sealed bearings but i can't find any info anywhere ?
any help appreciated
What is your question caller?
how do you get the bearings out
I think it's the same hub I had on my SS a couple of years ago - The generic On-One/ Planet X/ everyone else hub. It certainly looks identical anyway!
If it is I seem to remember it was just a case of removing the bearing end caps off the axle, then tapping the axle with a hammer until the cartridges fall out, then tapping new ones in with an appropriately sized socket
I remember I didn't have to remove the freewheel, either, and therat there's only 2 bearings in there....
2 is good ....
what did you replace them with skf from bearing supplier ?
They are standard bearings from an engineering supplier, you'll see the ref no. on the seals when yuo get them out.
*Watches* i have to do this too.
