when i click on a link on the forum it opens it in the same window, wheras on other forums and facebook it opens it in a new tab, is there an easy way of doing this on this website or di i just need to get over it?

Right click and "open in new tab" on a PC or hold option and click the link on a mac

ok, in which case I'm afraid the answer is MTFU.
One of the best things about this forum is its primitiveness - no bl00dy features, no d4mned threading, just live wibbling and simultaneous wiseassery 🙂

Middle-click works on most browsers.

Links that force a new tab/window are a pain in the arse as they take control away from the user (and they don't tell you whether they'll launch a new tab). With an untargeted link you get the choice.
