my gears slip/jump right after I shift gear.
what can I do apart from get pissed off?
get them properly adjusted.....?
might be new drivetrain time!
Have you changed anything? Chain/Cables/etc?
Have you dropped it on the mech side recently?
How old is it?
Is it properley lubed and adjusted?
Is the problem going down the block, up the block, or both?
the bike around 9mths old. all sram 0X. I try to keep everything clean & orderly. ride around 2-3 times a week.
cant remember having any recent falls.
not changed anything recently (apart from bars, stem, post)
its properly lubed (not sure about adjusted)
I think its more going up the block but sometimes it doesn't shift at all (they're 0x twisters)
Shifters could be gunged up/worn out.
Cables could be gunged up/worn out
Chain could be worn out - get a chain stretch tool to check.
Wallet could end up worn out.
suppose if I change the cable then I can give the shifters a once over at the same time.
how had is it to change the cables? I have the zinn maintenance book & managed to change the brake fluid last weekend no probs
It's very easy changing cables, if you dont already have cutters here is a cheap pair which are very good.

This order-
Is the cable the right tension for indexing? Adjust.
Is it properly lubricated? Lube.
Is the gear hanger bent? Straighten.
Is the chain stretched? Replace.
Are the sprockets worn? Replace
Are the chainrings worn? Replace.
If it solves anything in this order then you have spent the least amount of money.
Although 9 months the regular riding you're doing will have probably stretched the chain past the point of being able to replace it without replacing cassette or chain rings.
Chain stretch tool will give you peace of mind. 9 from Halfords!
Check your gear hanger is straight.
