[Closed] Garmin Maps

If you want the whole of the UK Open Streetmap data then I've built it into a Garmin map file.

Get an SD card, create a directory on it named "Garmin" and place the file downloaded from above in that directory. Install in the Garmin and off you go.

I'm assumung it's a reasonably recent Garmin and can take an SD card.

That's ace. I'll have to try it. Last time I tried doing that it, the garmin 1000 had a spaz and left me winging it in the lakes.

Apologies for the thread hijack but looking at an etrex at the moment and wondering about the maps. Does this do all the off road and contour mapping like OS maps?

The map I linked to above doesn't have contours on it. I'll look at adding them sometime....

Thanks pies, guessing it's pretty comprehensive for coverage though and a damn site cheaper than the OS option. Might take a punt and see how it works.
