What I would like is to have the time/distance ahead of virtual partner as a data field on the same page as Time, heart rate and cadence but it now looks like my garmin will never be updated to do this – is there any other cycle gps that does this? The best my 800 can do is a cycle between virtual partner screen, map and training data – which is hard to follow on a mountain bike trail at >170bpm! I find racing my previous self as good motivation but like to also know what’s going on too.

Might be worth seeing if the new 810 allows that, they've not changed a whole lot with it though barring the smartphone connectivity.

The new garmins 500 510 810 800 dont have it however it seems the old 705 does
