Garmin Edge 705 and...

[Closed] Garmin Edge 705 and Memory Maps V5. Why won't they talk to each other??

Ok, all I want to do is to import/export tracks from my Edge 705 into Memory Map. I keep getting the "Error. Cant connect to GPS" message in Memory map despite downloading the correct USB drivers and software updates from Garmin.

There is a workaround of using the Garmin as a USB storage device and converting the .tcx files into .gpx using a third party website, but it's a tad annoying and takes a lot longer.

Does anyone have any useful tips on how to resolve this?

Plug in the 705, click on Overlay, Import, navigate to the History folder on the 705 and select the file (make sure you have the correct file type selected).

Have you tried importing via Training Centre? I find that best anyway as it prevents lots of duplicates etc in Memory Map.
Is it a proper up to date version of Memory Map as well? Older versions didn't support the Edge i think.

Not tried either of the above suggestions yet. I will do when I get home though. Version wise, it's V5.1.3 I think.

Thanks for the advice.

Pie.
