I’ve not used it to follow a course before but I’m going to this weekend as I’ve not ridden the route for a couple of years and can’t remember it all.
Anyway when I load the course I get the message “ This route may take a long time to calculate. Consider adding via points”
What’s all that then?

Do you mean waypoints? These are just points that you can put into a route which makes the Garmin tell you that a turn is coming up . If you just have a course you need to look more often at your display to make sure you are on course and the Garmin just bleeps and buzzes when you go off course. Depends on how complicated the route is really.
