I just upload mine straight to Garmin connect/Stavra/RidewithGPS.
Straight on in about 10 seconds!

Have to say that it took me quite a while to get to grips with the 800 - i dont think its all that intuitive and the help guides are none existant. As above though, upload all your info through Garmin Connect direct from the unit.

If you wish to see the route on Basecamp then its a bit more of a faff. I think the easiest way is to import the file off the unit into Training Centre and then save as a GPX. Then open in Basecamp.

Oh, and check the garmin forums - almost everyone else has had to go through the learning process so chances are your question has been asked and answered numerous times!

Hope that helps!

You could join Endomondo or Garmin connect. There is a button to upload your route directly from the 800.

Thanks. I have too many mini usb cables. I've tried a few but it looks like the Garmin requires it's own specific one as it's not reading it properly, just charging it up. Arse.

The Garmin doesnt need a specific cable, I have 2 or 3 different ones that I can use, I lost the garmin one. When you plug the Garmin in you should get 2 boxes come up, one is the Garmin and one is the SD card. The unit will then say its charging. Open Garmin Connect and press "Upload" in the top right corner.
