Today my Garmin 540 recorded 0 feet altitude gain on my ride and I didn’t do my whole ride at sea level!
My Garmin Fenix watch recorded 2,100 feet. There is always a little bit of difference between my watch and bike computer but ot has never recorded o before.
Any ideas? Does my 540 just need recalibrating?
Thanks
It's a barometric altimeter so needs to be able to measure air pressure. If the little hole is blocked it won't work. Clean your hole 😮
Thanks, I’ll do it now before I go to bed!
If you upload the ride to Strava, on the activity page on website, you should be able to click "..." at the base of the left column and select "correct elevation."
I had it on another Make last year. Had a small crash, nothing drastic, got up, nothing damaged, but the altimeter didnt work. It wasnt dirty, I presumed the sudden stop had caused some damage to the sensor inside the computer.
