MegaSack DRAW - 6pm Christmas Eve - LIVE on our YouTube Channel
Could anyone write a quick 'how to' for uploading a GPX from last weekend into my Garmin 520 for me to follow please?
Thanks.
1. save the GPX file somewhere you can retrieve it easily (desktop for instance)
2. Open and sign into Garmin Connect
3. On the left of the page, expand the menu.
4. Select Training, then Courses.
5. In the dialogue box that's opened, scroll to the bottom, and click on "Import"
6. Choose browse and upload the saved GPX file
7. When you next sync your 520 it will upload the GPX route to the device
If it's connected up to the Garmin Connect website you can go to the Courses section, click Import and upload the GPX. Then just save the Course, select Send To Device and it'll be transferred when you next synch.
Alternatively, I think you can just connect your Garmin to your PC and do a file copy of the GPX file into the NewFiles directory on the device.
thanks kids, that was easier than i expected.
Just in case anyone bumps into this in the future, if you copy a file direct onto the Garmin using file explorer, it has to be in a .fit format. My 520 doesn't sync properly with courses, so I have to do a manual copy (works fine for activities, but not courses)
@AdamT I've always uploaded gpx files via file explorer (edge 800, 820, 830 & 530). You just have to drop them in the 'new files' folder.
Ahh...good tip. I was putting them directly into courses. 👍
