I have bought a Garmin Edge 500 and cannot 'upload' my
routes onto memory map. Has anyone been able to do this ?
I have spoken to Memory map and Garmin, no help really.
I can find the route on my Garmin, a .fit file, but need to
convert it to a .gpx file for Memory map to see it.
Any advice appreciated.

Can you upload it to Garmin Connect and export as a GPX from there, maybe?
There's someone working on it over on the Garmin Forum, I don't know how good it is though.

Same problem with the 800. Memory map "may" produce a software update but I wouldn't hold your breath. The easiest way is probably to upload the logs to garmin connect, then save it as a GPX file. That's what I tend to do
