About to move into a new property with a bit more space for bike storage.
We're detached and have an integrated double garage at the front and a good sized wooden shed in the back garden - Neither looks particularly secure at the moment.
Where would you keep your bikes? In the garage feels safer but we don't have much gap between our house and the road so feels a bit vulnerable. Around the back would require a more determined thief but i image they would be less likely to be disturbed whilst doing their thiefing.
No option to keep the bikes properly inside the house and we're (hopefully) in a fairly nice area but there's a risk everywhere i suppose

No brainer - garage. Double garage too - have half as your bike store - rig up some storage racking etc and if you're proper worried, ground anchors etc and fit a more secure front door.

If the double garage has two separate doors rather than one big door, keep one door permanently locked shut with the bikes on that side, and screen that side slightly with some racking in the middle.
From friends experience, being in a nice area is no help if the scroats only live a mile up the road. I aim to deter casual/opportunist thieves, if anyone really wants my bikes they will find a way.
Garage, ground anchors, good locks, Ring cameras, curtains on any windows, good insurance.
Do you have the option of adding a secure store? Maybe in place of hte shed? They're not cheap but it'll do a lot for peace of mind.
Almost all sheds are worse than insecure, your thief gets into it faster than you do with the key, and then not only do you not have any bikes your shed's broken too.
