Is there any thing you people can recommend so I can keep my current crank set.
current is a fsa mega evo 68mm replace the bottom bracket aprox 3mth ago and It feels stiff took crank off and bearings are ruff now so I'm looking for a replacement.
Last bottom bracket was changed under warrrenty by halfords and not happy to take it back there a second time.

Thanks.

No doubt others will say that it doesn't work but I run a Superstar HTII bottom bracket on my FSA Comet chainset, have done for a year with no problems and miles better than the rubbish that FSA make. A friend uses an XT BB with their Comet again a year or so with no worries.

So any HTII 24mm BB should work, although the axle on FSA cranks is slightly (like less than a mm) larger than other HTII cranks so it can require a tap with a rubber mallet to fit/remove. This doesn't seem to affect the life of the bearings.

I couldn't bring myself to pay £40 for an FSA BB that would seize up in 6 months of riding.

Put an fsa gossamer cross chainset in an XT bottom bracket. Was a tighter fit than a shimano bb would have been but runs perfectly.

Paid fifty quid for a Deore crankset that came with HT II bb. Just fed up of faffing about with the bloody thing.

Yep, supposedly different, but a good whack with a rubber mallet will do it. Even a cheap Shimano BB will last loads longer than the FSA.
