[Closed] Front shifting - works on stand, not on road...

...is there any logical reason for this that I am unaware of? The Internet doesn't seem to be conclusive on what it might be so thought I'd ask here.

It's a road bike too, and resulting from changing from standard to compact double.

Could it be that the chain being too long (am awaiting a 10speed powerlink) and therefore a bit slacker than you'd like is a possible factor to blame?

Have you moved the derraileur further down so that its in the correct position.

You may need to push your font mech a mm or so further when under power than on the stand, to get it up on the next ring. That may be a case of a little more cable tension, or if your Hi stop needs to move out a little, to allow the chain to rise.

Front mech setup is definately black magic!!!

Chain will be too long, but shouldn't affect front shifting.

Ja, moved it so it's pretty close (1mm or so) to the new outer chainring.

or if your Hi stop needs to move out a little, to allow the chain to rise.

Wish I could... New cranks arms are a fag paper's width away from the outer limit as it is ๐Ÿ™
