Hi SingleTrack forum,
I have a 2001 Specialized Rockhopper A1 Pro FS (Disc spec)
As per bikepedia, it states my seatpost is 30.9mm
I am looking to get this Shimano Deore Shadow (592, 591, 590) gear kit from Merlin but I'm confused over what I'll need to make the FD fit the seatpost - the FD on offer in the set is for 31.8 - 34.9 🙁
.... are there shims /spacers to convert?

I could be wrong but I think the seatpost referred to on that chart is the bit with the saddle on, not the seat tube that the mech fits around (and the seatpost slides into). In which case the mech would have to be bigger than the seatpost size by approximately "some".
I also seem to remember that mechs come with a few shims (hence the range) so you should be fine with the one you found.
Hopefully someone who really knows will be along soon though 🙂

Thanks - in the absence of common sense and hours of the day remaining, I think I had overlooked the obvious likelihood of confusing seat post with seat tube and moved right on to fretful angst over not finding a mech to fit.
I'll measure my tube & post so as to clarify matters, but thank you again!
