[Closed] Front derallieur cable loose when in granny ring

Is this normal? Or is it because I'm using an xt 10 speed chainset with 9 speed xtr derallieur and shifter? Have I gone completely mad? In sure it's normally vaguely tight. At least there isn't any slack.

If I tighten the cable when it's in the granny ring then when I'm in the middle ring at the front and the largest sprocket I get bad rubbing.

The derallieur is aligned perfectly.

Does anyone have any suggestions or can confirm this is normal as in getting fed up trying to work out why ๐Ÿ™‚

Cheers,

Does it shift correctly?

It does. It's just the cable being loose that's annoying me. That and wondering if that's normal that it's loose.

It can be like that, yes.

If it works, no worries. You can try undoing a barrel adjuster to tension the cable a tad, but its likely you'll lose crisp downshifts, so I'd leave it.
