[Closed] What lock to use with a ground anchor

Go for something that is sold secure rated and preferably as highly rated as possible.

Also don't skimp on the chain and lock combo, no point having the bees knees of a lock and a wimpy chain.

I got the Gold rated motorbike standard.

I've got the one in the Ebay link & its very good.

In saying that, no-one has tried to nick my bike.....

What you see in the pic below is a chopped Oxford Hardcore and a space where my motorbike used to be (out of shot are 2 other chains).

Whatever your insurance company is satisfied with. If anyone *really* wants your mountain bike, they'll either hacksaw through the frame, or spend 15 minutes with some allen keys stripping all the parts from it. Both of these would be significantly easier / quieter / quicker than destroying a massive chain. So just make sure it's insured properly which usually involves a ground anchor + some sort of 'sold secure' rating requirement.

I think superficial has a point. Any half decent lock will deter opportunists, serious thieves will go through walls and roofs if they really want to. Get it insured and use whatever they ask you to use.

I use an almax 16mm jobbie with a big squire lock I bought as a package deal.
Hopefully cropper proof but I don't think any will be grinder proof.
